A new Rasmussen poll finds more US voters hold a favorable view of former President Trump than Biden.
51 percent of voters hold a somewhat favorable opinion of President Biden, compared to 52 percent who have a somewhat favorable opinion of Trump. Former President Obama surpassed both presidents, landing a 55 percent favorability among voters. The survey pool was 1,000 US voters with a 95 percent level of confidence and a margin of sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points.
According to Rasmussen, 83 percent of Democrats view Biden favorably while only 20 percent of Republicans do. 84 percent of Republicans have a favorable opinion of Trump and 27 percent of Democrats share that opinion. The poll suggested political ideologies are the main determining factor in favorability.
“Comparing voter opinions of Biden and his two predecessors across demographic categories, the current president suffers from more intense disapproval by Republicans, and doesn’t have the kind of strong support from black voters that benefitted Obama,” Rasmussen suggested.
Earlier this month, a national poll suggested the majority of Americans believe President Biden is not in charge of executing presidential duties. Only 11 percent of Republicans believed Biden is in charge, and 32 percent of Democrats believe others are directing his actions.
